On
the way back from Kala Pattar, we give people the option of
going over the beautiful Cho La Pass (video),
leading across to the Gokyo Valley, via Zongma and Tangnak.

| The
Gokyo Cho La Trek option involves crossing a glacier; however
there are no serious dangers on route,or technical difficulties
unless there has been heavy snowfall. In that case we trek
back by the normal route. |
| This
is the perfect loop on our way back out to Namche and Lukla. |
| From
Gokyo we will ascend Gokyo Ri, a small summit (5483 m) to the
north west of the village. The climb takes around two hours,and
is well worth the effort,(video)
with spectacular views of Everest, Cho Oyu and the turquoise
lakes of Gokyo(video).
Some trekkers regard this view as even better than from Kala
Pattar. |
| After
visiting this region,we will trek back through the lovely Sherpa
villages of Macherma and Dole to Namche Bazaar. |
