An easy
trek in the Everest valley, with great views of Everest |
|

|
This 14 day
Everest Trek,
is an easier option than the full Everest
trek with the highest point reached being the Buddhist
monastery of Tengpoche (3867 metres). Tengpoche has the largest
and most active monastery in the Khumbu and supports around
70 monks.Though the Everest
valley Trek
is shorter, it certainly does not miss out on scenery, with
panoramic views of all the Khumbu peaks including Everest
itself. Most of the Everest
Trek
goes through the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park, is a
sanctuary for various types of animals and trees, which can
be seen along the trail. Our walking days are about five hours
with a long break for lunch, this gives plenty of time to
acclimatise and enjoy the scenery. This Everest
Trek
is designed for people without a background of mountain walking,
but who want to experience the amazing culture and scenery
of this region. |

The
greatest mountain of them all is Mount Everest. Standing at
8,848 metres its imposing majesty has inspired awe and wonder
in those who live beneath it, those that have read about it
and those who have simply seen pictures of it. Nepal is the
spiritual home of Safe Journeys, who have been running these
breathtaking Himalayan treks for the past 20years - this Everest
trek is no exception, following in the footsteps of the great
climbers such as Hillary and Tenzing. We trek through Sherpa
country past fields and villages before climbing up to Namche
Bazaar. The incredible monastery at Thyangboche is wonderful,
set against the backdrop of Ama Dablam, Everest and other snow-capped
peaks. Our goal is Pangboche on the Everest valley trek, which
is surrounded by mountains and home to the highest school in
Nepal, with a backdrop of the mighty Everest itself.
